A Sardinian daydream wrapped in the rugged nature of its north coast home; local-living is the heart and soul of this sprawling village-like resort.

Family-owned through and through, the vibe cultivated is very much that of staying in a beloved friend’s home – laid-back and welcoming to all. Sharing space with its sister property, Hotel Erica, communal places to venture to include two pools and the Le Thermae spa which is inspired by the ocean (the views of which are beautiful). Perhaps one of the best, though, are the dining venues, including Li Ciusoni specialising in traditional northern Sardinian fare (agritourism at its finest). However, there are plenty of ‘play areas’ reserved just for children and adults, and there are always La Licciola’s fresh-faced and modern rooms to retreat to – with plenty of privacy and Sardinian furnishings to cosy things up.

A contrast to the glitz of Porto Cervo further down the coastline, Valle dell’Erica Resort’s ace in the hole is the nature that it’s been seamlessly integrated into. It’s not uncommon to glimpse wildlife in the area and everything is linked by natural paths, so it’s easy to find those that lead down to the sea. Two sandy beaches are the springboards to almost one mile of coastline, scattered with beautiful bays and hiking trails that make great forerunners to exploring the Capo Testa peninsula just 30 minutes away. The eco-credentials here are strong too, summed up in its five-time crowning as Europe’s greenest hotel and its place as part of Delphina Hotels – the world’s leading green independent hospitality group.
